About Ginnise

The founder of PIQUE Hair, Ginnise Jackson, developed a deep passion for hair extensions, particularly wigs, during her childhood. Despite receiving reprimands, she would frequently engage in play with her mother's wigs, as her mother was a local model in the early 80s. During her teenage years, she had a close friend who battled cancer, which inspired her to strive to restore a sense of security and normalcy to her friend's life.

In 2006, Ginnise embarked on a small-scale venture with her sister, specializing in the sale of full lace front wigs, bundles, and toppers within the local community. Their target market consisted of individuals experiencing hair loss or seeking protective styles. Unfortunately, the business abruptly came to a halt when someone close to her stole all the supplies and hair products. This devastating loss, combined with the absence of insurance coverage, left her at a crossroads.

In 2019, after spending two decades as a Project Manager in a corporate office, Ginnise was laid off from her position. This setback prompted her to redirect her focus towards pursuing her dream of establishing her own hair extensions business. Thus, PIQUE Hair was born.

Additionally, she obtained certification as a Cranial Prosthesis Specialist. This certification enables her to accept medical insurance for the benefit of patients in need of "Cranial Prosthesis." As a cranial prosthesis specialist, her role involves collaborating with medical centers such as hospitals, oncologists, and dermatologists to assist clients in maintaining a sense of normalcy by providing tailored recommendations for their specific type of medically-induced hair loss.

Ginnise is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for her clients. She consistently goes above and beyond to offer personalized services, ensuring that customers feel comfortable and completely satisfied throughout the entire process. Her ultimate goal is to help customers feel normal again.

Ginnise's role as a cranial prosthesis specialist is to help clients to remain as normal as possible by providing the appropriate recommendations that are available for their type of medical induced hair loss. It’s important to note that these are just a few types of medical related hair loss.

  • Alopecia which simply means hair loss.
  • Alopecia Totalis & Universalis is total loss of hair all over the body (eyebrows, legs, arms, and other parts the body where hair grows)
  • Cicatricial better known as Scarring - is a rare disorder that can cause permanent hair loss accompanied by itching, formation of blisters, crusting and patching of the scalp.
  • Traction is usually due to pulling or tension on the hair shaft because of certain hair styles such as braids, sew-ins, ponytails, and some wig applications.
